KIDS CAMP!! KIDS CAMP!!

Thank you Cathedral for all your help.  Thank you Howard Crenshaw.  Thank you Women Ministries.  Thank you Happel family.  So many of you have contributed to the kids and youth camp efforts.  We truly couldn’t have done this without your help.  Monday morning we will leave for Kerrville and I beleive God has a plan for our kids.  Please keep them in your prayers.  So many of our kids and youth are unpolished gems, but we know what happens over time………in the hands of the Master!!  It will take many weeks, months and years to see the polished gem, but all of us at Cathedral can play a part in that process.  Love these kids inspite of their ways,………just as Moses enterceded for the Israelites.  I beleive that among these kids are many who will become future leaders.  Please invest some of your time and love in their lives,…….Always remember that Jesus took each one of us just as we were.  This is our opportunity to return the favor.

July 18th Singin’

 fri-july-18                HERE IS THE FLYER

Once again we will have our monthly Singin’. By moving the event to Friday, we were able to gain many folks that came from the local Oprys in town and DOUBLED our attendance. I hope you will copy the flyer and invite some friends. Local businesses where you trade will usually let you hang a flyer in their window to advertise if you will only ASK. So ASK! This is a great avenue to introduce visitors to our Church family and they may be looking for a home.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

What a weekend

fri-june-20It was a great pleasure to be a part of the Renewing of Wedding Vows with Pat and Connie Smith and their great family. The Lord was there. How inspiring it was to hear so many good words spoken about the impact Pat and Connie have had on so many people. We are blessed to have them in our Church family. Pat’s cousin did a tremendous job on the Catfish and Chicken Dinner. Forty years and pressin’ forward!

Rev. Gene Summers preached his heart out on Saturday evening and challenged us on Father’s Day. It was great to hear how awesome God is to save this young man from Channelview and raise him up to reach so many. It was great to see Sis. Monia. She makes Geno look good!

I can’t say enough about the Father’s Day meal. The ladies out-did themselves. Dumplins, smothered steaks, meatballs, you name it! We have the BEST COOKS IN TEXAS right in our Church.

Please remember the singin this Friday. Try and make copies and spread the word.

In His love and service,

Pastor Ronnie

Sis. Selma Lafield needs your prayer regarding some very painful spots on her face that have to be surgically removed.

Pray for my son, Zack, as he is seeking deliverance from bondage.

Lets pray for our revival services with Rev. Gene Summers this Saturday (7pm) and Sunday (11am).

This coming Father’s Day Weekend

Hello my precious friends,

My dad, Kaleb and I returned late Sunday evening from our Jordan Family Reunion. What a fast but rewarding trip. Good food, fellowship, and family. I did meet one new person. His name is Red. He is a friend of my cousin. Red has recently been released from prison. His dad has been very hard on him. He shared with me some of his hurts. He told me that he has recently started attending an Assembly of God Church there in Bowie. I told him to pray for his dad regardless. He went to see his dad in the nursing home where he is recuperating from a surgery. As I told Red goodbye yesterday, I shook his hand. About 15 seconds later he came back and said, ‘ I wasn’t sure about you, but your’e a pretty cool cop and preacher.’ And then….(hold on, I have a tear welling up as I write this), Red reached up, wrapped his big burly arms around me, and squeezed me real tight. He said, ‘please remember to pray for me.’

There was much preparation into the little two day trip. I had to get someone to preach (thanks Bro. Crenshaw), someone to do the music (thanks Joe and Linda Wilburn and team), someone to work the movies, rent a motel room, travel 5 hours, etc. But you know what….IT WAS WORTH IT! There is a Red waiting out there for you too.

Saturday we have the joy of celebrating with two great people. Pat and Connie Smith will renew their Wedding vows at Cathedral at 4:00 p.m.    At 5:00 p.m. a catfish dinner will be served by Pat’s cousin.   At 7:00 p.m. our Presbyter, Rev. Gene Summers will hold the first of two meetings with us. He will also be preaching a Father’s Day message at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Please invite men you know who need Jesus. We will believe for the anointing to rest upon Bro. Gene and the services.

Make plans to come celebrate, bless, and be blessed in all of these events.

I’m so glad to be a part of the family of God…

In Him,

Pastor Ronnie
