I stand corrected, Sunday will be January 11, “2009”, the year of our Lord. Old habits are hard to break.

Membership Sunday
This coming Sunday, January 11, 2008, Cathedral of Praise will accept new members into our family at the 11 am service. This is one of the most exciting times for the Church. Although some have attended for some time, it brings great joy to see folk take a step toward commitment to God’s work through membership.
If you or someone you know would like to join, please contact our Church Secretary, Elsie Barker, as soon as practical at 281-382-6640. She will supply you with a membership card to fill out and a copy of our Constitution and By Laws.
I am excited to see the growth in our body and look forward to the challenge of glorifying our Heavenly Father.
Pray with me for this joyous occasion,
Pastor Ronnie
Watchnight Service – December 31 8pm
Cathedral will host a New Years Eve Watchnight Service. We are asking everyone who attends to bring a dish of your choice to share with everyone else. We will eat at 8pm, have music, testimonies, the Word, Communion, and be in Prayer at the midnite hour. Invite your friends. This will be a great, safe, and spiritual opportunity to jumpstart the New Year.
Prayer request
I just got off the phone with Bro. Harold Doney. His mom, Opal, is in the ER in Mexia, Texas and is bleeding vaginally with an unknown origin. He has asked us to pray in unison.
“Lord Jesus, touch Sis. Opal just now, stop this bleeding and heal her body that is sold-out to you, its in the matchless name of Jesus that we pray, and everybody says AMEN!”
Merry Christmas
Truly, Christmas is the opportunity for everyone to reflect upon how blessed they truly are. Because of the miraculous birth of our Savior, we are afforded mercy and grace, the gifts needed to make it both here on earth, and at our eternal home.
Take time to thank Jesus for his life in you, which after all, is the very reason for the season of Christmas, and the means to help us be victorious.
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
In His love and service,
Ronnie
Thank you Cathedral Family
I am so blessed to have my Cathedral Family. What a wonderful performance by our kids. We are blessed to have John and Linda Brown. What a Team. It was so grand to have Jolly ole St. Nick and his Mrs. to visit us. And then…what a wonderful meal. Our kitchen staff is the best.
I would like each of you to send an attached email of appreciation to both the owner, Joel Perkins, and general manager, Lance Taylor, of Gringos for the outstanding donation given to our Church Family.

Thanksgiving
My Family,
Last night we had a sweet time together in our Church Service. As part of the service, I read the Thanksgiving Proclamation signed by President George Washington. Please read it and behold the historic value of our forefathers who based our core beliefs on the Word of God.
I am thankful for so many things. Especially my salvation through Jesus. He is the reason I am able to live victoriously. Take time to share the goodness of God with your families and friends as you gather around the table.
I Love each of you and pray God’s richest blessings will rest on you,
Pastor Ronnie
THANKSGIVING PROCLAMATION
A DAY OF PUBLIC THANKSGIVING AND PRAYER
THE YEAR OF 1798
“Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly implore His protection and favor– and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint committee requested me to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially in a form of government for their safety and happiness.
“Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday…to be devoted by the people of these states to the service of that great and glorious Being Who is the beneficent Author of all that was, that is, or that will be–that we may then all unite in rendering Him our sincere and humble thanks…
“And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions…to render our national Government a blessing to the people…to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations…and to bless them with good government, peace and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true knowledge and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us–and generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of prosperity as He alone knows to be best…”
–President George Washington, 1798
