fri-june-205 One Final reminder of the Singing Friday Night. It is a great opportunity to fellowship with good friends and introduce our Church to the community. Hope to see you there.
game-night-flyer Sallie Roberts would like to let everyone know that Game Night at Cathedral of Praise is coming up real soon. See the attached flyer for more details.
fri-june-20It was a great pleasure to be a part of the Renewing of Wedding Vows with Pat and Connie Smith and their great family. The Lord was there. How inspiring it was to hear so many good words spoken about the impact Pat and Connie have had on so many people. We are blessed to have them in our Church family. Pat’s cousin did a tremendous job on the Catfish and Chicken Dinner. Forty years and pressin’ forward!
Rev. Gene Summers preached his heart out on Saturday evening and challenged us on Father’s Day. It was great to hear how awesome God is to save this young man from Channelview and raise him up to reach so many. It was great to see Sis. Monia. She makes Geno look good!
I can’t say enough about the Father’s Day meal. The ladies out-did themselves. Dumplins, smothered steaks, meatballs, you name it! We have the BEST COOKS IN TEXAS right in our Church.
Please remember the singin this Friday. Try and make copies and spread the word.
In His love and service,
They are back! They had a great time. No broken bones and very few laws were broken! Thanks for your prayers and support. They needed this more than they will ever know. Keep our little kids in your prayers, they will leave for camp in 4 or 5 weeks. You’ll actually know when they’re gone because you’ll be able to hear yourself think!!
Our dear Brother Joe Diggs came through his knee replacement surgery successfully today. You can call to congratulate him at St. Joseph Hospital. He will be there a few days. Praise the Lord!
Sis. Selma Lafield needs your prayer regarding some very painful spots on her face that have to be surgically removed.
Pray for my son, Zack, as he is seeking deliverance from bondage.
Lets pray for our revival services with Rev. Gene Summers this Saturday (7pm) and Sunday (11am).
In His love and service,
THE YOUTH ARE DOING WELL. ON MONDAY THEY WENT INTO SAN ANTONIO BEFORE THEY CHECKED-IN AT CAMP. SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAD ALOT OF FUN. I THINK THEY EVEN WENT TO THE ALAMO!! ON MONDAY NIGHT I GOT A CALL FROM MY SON RYAN AND HE SAID THE SERVICE WENT LONG, BUT EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. HE SAID THE GROUP THEY ARE ROOMING WITH IS AWESOME. I KNOW GOD IS WORKING IN THEIR LIVES AND WE’LL SEE THE FRUIT OF GOD IN TIME. KEEP PRAYING FOR THEM. THEY GO TO SERVICE AT ABOUT 7:00 OR 7:30 EVERY NIGHT. PRAY DOWN A HOLY GHOST FLOOD. YOU GUYS KNOW A LIFE CHANGED BY GOD IS FOREVER CHANGED! LETS GIVE GOD THE GLORY NOW, FOR ALL HE’S GOING TO DO.
Hello my precious friends,
My dad, Kaleb and I returned late Sunday evening from our Jordan Family Reunion. What a fast but rewarding trip. Good food, fellowship, and family. I did meet one new person. His name is Red. He is a friend of my cousin. Red has recently been released from prison. His dad has been very hard on him. He shared with me some of his hurts. He told me that he has recently started attending an Assembly of God Church there in Bowie. I told him to pray for his dad regardless. He went to see his dad in the nursing home where he is recuperating from a surgery. As I told Red goodbye yesterday, I shook his hand. About 15 seconds later he came back and said, ‘ I wasn’t sure about you, but your’e a pretty cool cop and preacher.’ And then….(hold on, I have a tear welling up as I write this), Red reached up, wrapped his big burly arms around me, and squeezed me real tight. He said, ‘please remember to pray for me.’
There was much preparation into the little two day trip. I had to get someone to preach (thanks Bro. Crenshaw), someone to do the music (thanks Joe and Linda Wilburn and team), someone to work the movies, rent a motel room, travel 5 hours, etc. But you know what….IT WAS WORTH IT! There is a Red waiting out there for you too.
Saturday we have the joy of celebrating with two great people. Pat and Connie Smith will renew their Wedding vows at Cathedral at 4:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. a catfish dinner will be served by Pat’s cousin. At 7:00 p.m. our Presbyter, Rev. Gene Summers will hold the first of two meetings with us. He will also be preaching a Father’s Day message at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Please invite men you know who need Jesus. We will believe for the anointing to rest upon Bro. Gene and the services.
Make plans to come celebrate, bless, and be blessed in all of these events.
I’m so glad to be a part of the family of God…
THE YOUTH LEFT FOR CAMP THIS MORNING AT ABOUT 5:30. AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, THEY RODE WITH THE YOUTH FROM CHANNELVIEW ASSEMBLY. THEY WILL HAVE LOADS OF FUN, BUT I TOLD THEM TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SPIRITUAL OPPORTUNITITES AS WELL. I WANT TO ONCE AGAIN THANK EVERYONE OF YOU WHO HELPED THESE YOUTH GET TO CAMP. MAY GOD BLESS YOU GUYS RICHLY. LETS PRAY LIKE WARRIORS FOR THESE KIDS.
JOHN AND LYNDA BROWN
jUST A REMINDER….THE FUNDRAISER “CAR WASH” WILL BE THIS SUNDAY THE 8TH AT 11:00 AM. BRING YOUR DIRTY CAR OR TRUCK. OUR YOUTH WILL LEAVE FOR CAMP ON MONDAY MORNING. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND PLEASE KEEP THESE KIDS IN YOUR PRAYERS.

fri_june_201 Hello Friends,
I am sending out this flyer early in hopes that each person who receives it will run copies and help spread the word. This is a very wholesome atmosphere to invite your friends to come for an evening of great food, fun, fellowship, and some of the best music you can possibly find. And, to say the least, we will expect the Lord to touch someone in the way that He is most able.
We will not charge admission, however, we will trust that everyone who attends and is blessed will give when the love offering is received.
Brothers Joe, Pat, and Charlie will provide some great eats at the ‘COP Kitchen’ for a nominal concession stand price.
